Huons Group Chairman Yoon Sung-tae Attends in Inauguration of Endoscope Washer-Disinfector Production Line at India’s Vasu Group

Huons Meditech, a medical device specialist under Huons Group, has officially commenced local assembly production, marking a key milestone in its expansion into the Indian market.

Huons Meditech Co., Ltd. (CEO Ha Chang-woo) announced on February 24 that it held an inauguration ceremony for an endoscope washer-disinfector local assembly production line utilizing the Complete Knock Down (CKD) method on February 23 (local time) in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, in partnership with Vasu Group.

The ceremony was attended by Huons Group Chairman Yoon Sung-tae, along with executives and employees from both Huons Meditech and Vasu Group, who shared future plans and reaffirmed their commitment to strategic cooperation.

Founded in 1985, Vasu Group is an Indian pharmaceutical and medical device distribution company that operates a manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, Telangana—one of India’s major hubs for the medical device industry. In March of last year, Huons Meditech entered into an agreement with Vasu Group to advance its expansion into India and has since been exporting components for local assembly under the CKD production model.

Endoscope washer-disinfectors produced through the CKD method will qualify for domestic manufacturing incentives in India and will be supplied nationwide. Through this initiative, Huons Meditech aims to enhance price competitiveness and strengthen brand recognition across the Indian market.

To ensure stable CKD production in India, engineers from Vasu Group visited Korea last month and completed CKD manufacturing and quality management training at Huons Meditech’s headquarters. The training focused on technology transfer and the establishment of standardized quality systems. In addition, on February 20, Huons Meditech executives visited Vasu Group’s production facility in Hyderabad to inspect the CKD manufacturing line and conduct further on-site training.

Through local production cooperation with Vasu Group, Huons Meditech expects to secure improved price competitiveness, enhance logistics efficiency, and accelerate its expansion into global markets. Beginning with endoscope washer-disinfectors, the company plans to expand its CKD portfolio to include key product lines such as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripters and disinfectants, thereby strengthening its market penetration strategy in India.
